Religious cultural tradition: the Carnival of Tenosique
Abstract
The carnival is a cultural celebration whose origin dates back to the pagan festivities of the Romans and consists of dances, music, costumes, parades and parades associated with the Christian calendar. Through a critical literary review and contrast, the investigation of the Tenosique Carnival was carried out, the objective of which was to analyze it and why it is considered the rarest in Mexico. In conclusion, this carnival is a historical legacy of traditions of ancient pre-Hispanic culture, whose main feature is the dance of Pochó, which means the purification of man through the struggle between good and evil, a dance that has become a custom of symbolism and tradition, which is considered a unique and memorable experience, which impresses locals and strangers, due to the unique identity and surrealism of this carnival.
