The importance of strategic planning in the tourism sector of the State of Tabasco
Abstract
Currently Tabasco is one of the best national destinations in terms of congresses and conventions, as it is seen as the entity with business tourism activity related to the most important energy industry in the country; since the synergies between the private sector and the oil industry have contributed to create the appropriate infrastructure for the realization of fairs, exhibitions, congresses and incentive trips, which is why business tourism in this region has been significantly boosted. For this, all the programs, actions and resources destined to tourism in the state are focused primarily on taking advantage of this specific and permanent market, encouraging private investment and providing quality public services.
The state has a great potential for tourism growth, thanks to its oil mining and natural attractions, its cultural wealth, historical archeology, pre-Hispanic practices, rich cuisine and warmth of its people, it is also the owner of invaluable natural wealth.
The objective of this research is to highlight the importance of strategic planning for the development and growth of tourism in the state of Tabasco, for its national and international projection; and this requires a method that makes the efforts invested and the resources used, optimized to the maximum in order that tourism is an opportunity for development.
