Religious emotionality in Tabasco, proposal for a museum of sacred art as cultural heritage
Abstract
Emotionality is the capacity to express an emotion or feeling. Within the framework of religiosity, it can be understood how people experience diverse feelings within the context of their religious experience. This research explores some aspects that give rise to the proposal for a museum of sacred art in the state of Tabasco. The first stage of exploration focused on the state's religious past, the era of Garrido, and the current state of religiosity. The second stage explored the sacred art currently housed in the state cathedral and its historical significance in religious emotion. Finally, the research explored the details and feasibility of creating a museum of sacred art for the state of Tabasco. Based on the qualitative and exploratory method, with a review of literature and arguments from those involved, we found that the historical past of Tabasco shows us a world still unexplored, the foundations of the religiosity of a people that can exploit in a tourist sense all the art it possesses not only among the churches but also the art in the possession of private individuals that are found in Tabasco homes, valuing the possessions of the church such as the Christ of the Cathedral or the small chapel of John Paul II, as an initial basis for the creation of the museum of Sacred Art in the city of Villahermosa.
